There are at least two reasons to make the move to Sunterra — a beautiful home and the opportunity to live a laid-back lagoon life. A third reason (if you need one) is the Katy Boardwalk District.
The 169-acre mixed-use development project has been under construction since 2019. Located at Kingsland Boulevard and Prairie Parkway, just south of I-10, the complex is anchored by a 90-acre lake and nature preserve.
Among the many amenities planned is the area’s first full-service hotel and conference center, a 304-room, four-star property with a ballroom and event space to accommodate large meetings and social gatherings. The name of the hotel has not yet been released, but both venues are slated for completion in 2023.
Of even greater interest to our new residents is the 155,000 square feet of retail space the district will offer. The space is earmarked for upscale shops, chef-driven restaurants and unique, first-to-market entertainment concepts. The Katy Boardwalk District plans to begin announcing its first tenants in early 2022.
An additional 60,000 square feet of office space will be available. A large green area in the center of the complex will be available for community events. The entire development is within walking distance of Katy Mills and Typhoon Texas.
The preserve has been designed to showcase the area’s native trees, flora and wildlife. Hotel guests and those visiting for dinner or shopping will be able to wander a trail system complete with wooden boardwalks and a viewing platform.
Upon completion, Katy Boardwalk is sure to become the centerpiece of community life in Katy. A vibrant, natural oasis for residents to shop, dine, work or just hang out. A place Sunterra residents can easily access for all of their needs.
