The Retreat at Sunterra is under construction, and it won’t be long before residents have access to a beautiful resort-style pool surrounded by a lazy river. Which means residents will soon be planning the perfect pool day. If you are too, we’ve compiled a list of things to do to get ready for the pool:
Pack the Essentials
Pack a bag the night before, or just create a pool “to go” bag with everything you think you might need. That should include sunscreen, towels, goggles, water bottles and snacks. If you have a young child, be sure to have swim diapers. Cover ups are a must for keeping the sun off delicate skin when it’s lunch or snack time.
Plan Your Arrival Time
Community pools can get busy during peak hours. If your family isn’t one for crowds, plan to arrive a little earlier or later that usual. You will be able to secure a good sunbathing spot.
Respect the Rules
Pools have rules and you and your family should learn and respect them. Familiarize yourself with the pool’s rules and regulations, and make sure to abide by them. Rules are in place to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment, so be courteous and respectful to other pool-goers.
Stay Hydrated
Spending time in the sun and water can be dehydrating, so make sure to drink plenty of water throughout your pool visit. Bring a reusable water bottle and refill it regularly to stay hydrated and energized.
Bring Pool Toys
Enhance your pool experience by bringing along pool toys and inflatables. Whether it’s a beach ball, pool noodles or diving rings, these accessories can add extra fun and excitement to your time in the water.
Practice Sun Safety
Protect yourself from the sun’s harmful rays by applying sunscreen generously and regularly. Opt for a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a high SPF, and reapply it every few hours, especially after swimming or sweating.
Take Breaks
Don’t forget to take breaks from the sun and water to rest and recharge. Find a shaded area or lounge chair to relax, enjoy a snack or read a book before diving back into the pool.
Mix Things Up
Mix things up by trying different activities. Swim laps for exercise, play water games like volleyball or Marco Polo or simply float around. If you live in Sunterra, you’ll be able to float around our lazy river.
