The Top-Selling Community in Texas — Again!

It’s a story that just doesn’t get old — Sunterra is again the top-selling community in Texas for the third consecutive year!

This three-peat achievement came after builders sold 1,024 new homes in Sunterra during 2025, earning us the No. 5 spot among the nation’s 50 top-selling master planned communities, according to housing research firm RCLCO. It’s the third time we’ve been ranked in the top five nationally on the annual report and the fourth time to be included on the list.

So what makes Sunterra so appealing? Let’s take a look:

Outstanding Amenities

Not every community boasts an amenity complex anchored by a nearly 3-acre crystal clear lagoon. But that’s exactly what opened last year in Sunterra. Royal ISD boasts big-district programs that are applied with small-district, everyone-knows-your-name attention, including a superior Career & Technical Education, a dedicated STEM program with a Project Lead the Way Designated School recognition, a dual two-way language program, and Gifted & Talented services to name a few.

Both school districts opened new elementary schools in Sunterra last year, including Katy ISD’s Cross Elementary and Royal ISD’s Royal Prairie Elementary.

Sunterra boasts that Katy address everyone seems to want, with a location just north of Interstate 10. The Energy Corridor is nearby as well as regional destinations like Katy Mills Mall and Typhoon Texas.
