Got a kid who loves digging holes? Save your backyard and give them an experience they won’t forget at Dig World, Katy’s newest amusement park!
The first construction-themed park in Texas, Dig World allows adults and children to safely operate real heavy construction equipment. That includes using a full-size Caterpillar 306 mini-excavator to fish things out of mini ponds, a Caterpillar 303.5 to dig holes, a Caterpillar 302 to knock things down and a Caterpillar 236D3 skid steer loader to drive around a winding track. The machinery was made available through a partnership with Mustang Cat.
Another partner, Texas A&M’s Department of Construction, is teaching Texans about the construction industry.
Additional activities include a gem-mining station, a playground and a turf field with games like cornhole and TowerBall.
Planning a construction-themed birthday party? The party package is $349 and includes 10 guests (the birthday child is free), two tickets for parents or guardians of the birthday child, two 2-liter bottles of soda, two large pizzas, a dedicated party host, a reserved party table for two hours, a return ticket for the birthday child and a construction vest. Families can add more soda or bottled water, additional tickets, additional vests and hard hats at a discounted rate.
The park also plans to host corporate events and field trips.
Tickets for Dig World are restricted by height. Children under 32 inches are free but anyone taller is $24.99. Reservations are required and there is a two-hour time limit at the park.
Rides are also restricted by height. Children taller than 48 inches may operate all attractions by themselves. Children taller than 42 inches can operate most of the equipment by themselves. Children between 32 and 42 inches tall may ride and operate machinery with an adult.
Dig World is located at 5000 Katy Mills Circle near Katy Mills Mall. Parking is free.
