Homes (lots of homes!) and amenities have been under construction in Sunterra lately and now there’s something else — a Kiddie Academy.
Construction started in February on the 11,500-square-foot facility that is expected to open late this year. It will be the first daycare facility for our community.
The $4.5 million daycare will have 11 classrooms and an outdoor play area that boasts a splash pad, soccer field and basketball court. Solar panels on the building will help conserve energy. The facility is expected to serve more than 200 children between the ages of 6 weeks to 12 years. Plus, there’s room for expansion if needed, with the school being built on 1.9 acres of the 3.2-acre property.

Recently opened in Sunterra is The Retreat, one of two amenity complexes planned in Sunterra. The Retreat offers a wide range of activities with a resort-style pool, lazy river, splash pad, tennis courts, soccer field, event lawn, playground and more. A clubhouse with a fitness facility and meeting and event spaces is expected to open early this summer.
Under construction and opening in 2025 in Sunterra is The Sol Club, anchored by a large Crystal Lagoons® amenity lined with white sand beaches and boardwalks. Overlooking the lagoon will be a second community clubhouse. The Sol Club also will have pickleball courts, sports fields, a playground, horseshoe pits and other features.
